Polignano a Mare – Monopoli

ITINERARY:

Departure from naturebike site where we can choose the most suitable bike. Walking along small country roads rich in dry stone walls, trulli rural houses, we arrive at the Lamia di Olimpia small contrada, continuing we arrive at the Canale di Pirro, an area rich in vines and fruit trees. We climb on the hillside of the Murgia, “derives from the Latin murex, wall”, from here we can observe a beautiful panorama. A long descent of 8 km. takes us to Monopoli, continuing to Polignano a Mare where you can admire the high and jagged coasts of the place. Native town of Domenico Modugno with his famous song “VOLARE”. We continue the tour in the direction of Monopoli entering the historic center, along the old port, the walls of the sixteenth century with the castle Charles V built by the Spaniards in the sixteenth century. After a brief stop we resume the tour in the direction of Capitolo, Savelletri where one of our collaborators with the van will take us back to the starting point.
